There can be just as many challenges launching a career, as trying to advance, or making a transition. To help address these challenges, the Alumni Association’s Career Services program directed a variety of programs and services to help alumni at all career levels.
Close to 300 alumni participated in seminars on entrepreneurship, career planning, networking, and public service. In addition to speaking programs, Caitlin Friedman ’92 held a book signing for her recent release, A Girl’s Guide to Kicking Your Career into Gear, as did former Vermont Governor Madeleine Kunin ’56, ’85H for her book, Pearls, Politics and Power: How Women can Win and Lead.
With the alumni online community, alumni have the opportunity to post a resume, search for alumni working in their field, work with mentors, search job listings, or take advantage of CareerBeam, a state-of-the-art online program for developing professional resumes, preparing for interviews, and implementing a strategic career search using exercises and research tools to guide your process.
“The Alumni Association contributes to the success of our graduates by offering resources and opportunities that will enable them to develop and continue to cultivate their professional skills and career path,” said Kim Sherman ’87, board member and chairperson of the Alumni Career Services Committee.
