Against the picture-perfect backdrop of the UMass Amherst campus, the Alumni Association welcomed 50th reunion alumni, emeriti, and guests for Reunion Weekend 2008 this past June. Planning began two years ago with a dedicated alumni volunteer committee of members from the Class of 1958. “We had two goals for our reunion,” said committee member Paul Costello ’58.” One was to mark this milestone in our lives, and the other was to recognize what UMass has meant to us. We owe a lot to the university, and I hope everyone takes this opportunity to contribute and give back to UMass Amherst.”

Over 300 alumni and guests returned to campus for a weekend that included a luncheon at Hillside, the chancellor’s residence; lectures; school and college receptions; campus tours; the Class of 1958 gift dedication; a remembrance ceremony; and many social gatherings. “We have had an absolutely delightful time. Everybody has been so nice, and the activities were well-planned. The Alumni Association has taken care of all our needs,” said Stuart Lindquist ’58.
