"SEPTEMBER 11, UMASS" - photos by Scott Eldridge II

TV SCREENS, STUDENT UNION LOBBY. Editor's note: Most of the images in the remarkable September 12 edition of The Collegian are the work of staff photographer Scott Eldridge II. "It was probably the longest day I've ever lived," the sophomore from Pittsfield says. "It was a day spent on our feet, not resting until late into the night, and because of the hectic nature of the coverage many of us never really had a chance to think about what was really going on. We knew the facts, and we took the pictures, but in essence had to shut it all out until the paper was sent to press. In that sense it was probably the longest day for all of us and a true experience in journalism."
