Brattle Book Shop
With his trademark flair, George Gloss rented a covered wagon when he moved Brattle Book Shop from Cornhill to West Street, and showered onlookers with free books along the route. When the West Street store burned to the ground in 1980, his son, Ken Gloss ’73, purchasd a building a few doors down—the home of Brattle Book Shop ever since.
