Student Leaders Recognized for Their Contributions

From left to right are Meghan DiNapoli ’05, ’07G (Special Assistant to the Dean of Students and Alpha Chi Omega House Coordinator), Matthew Eppinger ’01 (Hartford Alumni Club), Ed Godek ’96 (Pioneer Valley Alumni Club) and Ashley Dixon ’06 (President, Student Alumni Association).
THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION BOARD OF Directors honored student leaders for their contributions and dedication to advancing campus life at UMass Amherst with a special reception in the Massachusetts Room of the Mullins Center. The Student Alumni Association identified student leaders and volunteers from registered student organizations, fraternities and sororities, athletics, student government, and the Resident Assistant program.

“These are the leaders of tomorrow,” said Hal Lane ’60, president of the Alumni Association, “and we are pleased to honor their hard work.” In addition to the Alumni Association Board of Directors, regional Alumni Clubs Leaders and Alumni Association Life Members were on hand to congratulate the students and to speak with them about their goals and aspirations.

“It was wonderful to be recognized,” said Ashley Dixon ’06, president of the Student Alumni Association and student member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors. “It was also a great opportunity for the students to meet with the Board of Directors and other alumni leaders to cultivate their leadership and networking skills,” said Dixon.
