THE DAVID J. KLINGENER FUND memorializes the zoology professor who taught mammalogy and evolutionary biology at UMass from 1965 until his death in 1995. The fund was established in 1996 with a gift of $125,000 from his mother, Ruth Klingener who died in September 2002. In her will Ruth Klingener bequeathed an additional $400,000 to the fund named for her son.
