Movin' and Groovin' at the Eric Carle Museum
|
AT "MOVIN AND GROOVIN'" at the Eric Carle Museum” in November, UMass Amherst dance professor Billbob Brown took the stage with local fifth-graders during a performance and visual art exhibit. The project, inspired by illustrator Chris Raschka’s children’s books John Coltrane’s Giant Steps and A Poke in the I, was the culmination of a month-long collaboration between Brown, Five College dance students, and Crocker Farm Elementary School. “Movin’” served as UMass Amherst’s contribution to the 25th anniversary celebration of the Five College Dance Department.
